How I Work

A structured approach, adapted to the business in front of me.

I work closely with the people who understand the business and the detail of the work. The approach is clear enough to keep decisions, progress and responsibilities visible, without adding process for its own sake.

01

Understand the brief

We begin with the business outcome, the current situation, the people involved and any timing or commercial constraints. I confirm what is in scope, what information is needed and how we will measure the work.

At this point

Agreed scope and success measures

02

Establish the current state

I review the available evidence and speak with the people who know the work. This creates a practical view of the process, responsibilities, systems, risks and commercial impact.

At this point

A validated view of the problem

03

Design the change

The future approach is designed with the people who will use it. Responsibilities, requirements, controls, decisions and measures are made clear before implementation begins.

At this point

Agreed future state and delivery plan

04

Implement

I build and coordinate the practical elements of the change, including documentation, system requirements, testing, communications, training and stakeholder decisions.

At this point

The new approach is in use

05

Embed and measure

Ownership is transferred to the business, the operating rhythm is established and results are reviewed against the original baseline.

At this point

Handover and outcome review

Clear expectations and visible progress.

Scope

Outcomes, deliverables, responsibilities, assumptions and exclusions are agreed.

Progress

Milestones, decisions, risks, dependencies and client actions remain visible.

Collaboration

The people closest to the work are involved in understanding and designing the change.

Handover

The business retains the documentation, knowledge and operating rhythm it needs.

Delivery, adoption and business impact are tracked separately.

01

Delivery

Was the agreed work completed and were decisions made when needed?

02

Adoption

Are people using the new process, tools and controls as intended?

03

Impact

What changed in time, cost, quality, margin, visibility or capacity?

A diagnostic is often the most useful place to begin.

It gives the leadership team a shared view of the current state and a practical order for the work before a larger commitment is made.
